THUNDERBIRD FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS Website: www.maynarddixon.com. Paul and Susan Bingham purchased Maynard Dixon's summer home and studio in Mt. Carmel, Utah. Committed to restoring this art-historic site which had been in disrepair since the 1980's, the Binghams formed a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization in early 1999 and called it the Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts, which will fund this important project. The Thunderbird Foundation will provide scholarships, artist-in-residence programs and preserve the home and studio where Dixon's memorial and ashes remain. The foundation will also host an annual art invitational show event entitled "Maynard Dixon Country," featuring artwork by 15-20 contemporary American painters who share the talent and vision of Dixon.
