The Thunderbird Foundation will provide scholarships, artist-in-residence programs and preserve the home and studio where Dixon's memorial and ashes remain. The foundation will also host an annual art invitational show event entitled "Maynard Dixon Country," featuring artwork by 15-20 contemporary American painters who share the talent and vision of Dixon.

Clubs

These organizations for collectors of historic California art are at once social, educational and philanthropic.  Through monthly events members meet each other, visit private collections, enjoy private tours of special exhibits, make one-day trips to view out-of-town art, hear lectures, etc.  Monies raised go to support exhibits, catalogues, or restoration of artwork at the non-profit institution with which the club is affiliated.
